Sharing a way of life

Our guesthouse is ideally located in the heart of the English area in Amiens, a town steeped in art and history. In Edinburgh Avenue, you will be a stone's throw from Notre-Dame Cathedral, The Botanical Gardens (Jardin du Roy), The Museum of Picardy, Jules Verne's House, The "Hortillonnages" (Floating Gardens), etc. This holiday resort is an ideal point of departure to go for a walk in the Baie de Somme or to attend the different events organized for the commemorations of the centenary of the First World War.

On opening the doors of our Amiénoise house, where we live, our genuine desire is to offer well-being, warm and attentive welcome and proximity. The rooms are tastefully furnished. They are a combination of tradition and modernity, simplicity and elegance according to the principles of Feng Shui.

Welcome to the Somme...
The Somme has been deeply marked by the battles of the First World War. All the events and exhibitions which are being organized to celebrate the Hundredth anniversary are topical and understandably so. You will be taken in the footsteps of these men, soldiers from many different nationalities -British, English, Scottish, Indians and Australians.
The Cathedral and the Belfry are listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Thanks to the projection of images, you will have a colourful view of the Cathedral and you will discover the vividly coloured and sculpted gates.
The hortillonnages located in the heart of the city of Amiens make a mosaic of floating gardens surrounded with little canals.
At Jules Verne's house, you will follow the famous writer in his private life ; he was amiénois by adoption.
The Baie de Somme along with the Parc du Marquenterre is a unique Nature Reserve where more than two third of migrating birds come and choose to stop off.

Breakfast in keeping with my expectations with bread cereal, jams, butter and croissant and juice Of fresh orange! Do not worry about crescent crumbs that could fall to the ground, a small female dachshund on all fours will take care of ... Wifi worries with my computer but not with my Iphone .. weird. One detail that raises the service: I received a sms from madam telling me that I had forgotten my phone charger cable and that it was available in the lobby with possibility to retrieve it at any time. November 12, 2015 : "We went for the All Saints weekend and we were not disappointed with the B & B The house, close to the Amiens Station is adorable in the best English style. The room is spacious, soft beds and towels also. Finally, the best time of the weekend, breakfast Ghislaine :  homemade yogurt, muffins home, croissants, baguette, assorted jams, small fruit salad, hot drinks, fresh orange juice (!!), also homemade madeleines. A guest room in which you have to go if we go to Amiens." Lorraine

September 23, 2015 : "Definitely French but with British architecture - interesting building!” Three nights stay in Edimbourg Avenue with its wooden staircase, charming decoration and very comfortable bedroom piqued our interest in the popular residential area of Amiens where the house is situated. The house, as the name of the road suggests, lies in a part of the town which was reconstructed by British builders and the house style, like its neighbours is very heavily influenced by British architecture, but with many French features. A 15 minute walk into town makes this an attractive place to stay. Generous breakfasts served in the family dining room by Ghislaine set us up nicely for a few days sightseeing in Amiens and the surrounding area." Jaryce

August 10, 2015 : "We enjoyed the welcome, listening and availability of Ghislaine, who welcomed us with our small dog, everything is also very well. The 2 bedrooms and throughout the house are of an impeccable cleanliness and comfort. The decor is simple and refined, you can admire a number of paintings by artists. The breakfast is hearty, everything fresh, including fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit salad, Ghislaine does not compromise on quality! The area is quiet, it is very close to the city center by car, about 5 minutes. An address that we highly recommend!" Stéphane

July 31, 2015 : "Very clean room, delightful hostess, very close to station in a quiet part of Amiens. We chose it for a place to stay while visiting the WW1 battlefields and we were not disappointed by the accommodation. Ghislaine made us feel very welcome and gave us a healthy breakfast and we enjoyed chatting to her. She appreciates art and uses her house to display a friends paintings." Gill

July 30, 2015 : "This bnb was run by a lovely couple who care about the comfort of their guests. Room was a nice size, with large modern bath meant to accommodate two people. Breakfast was plentiful, with home-made yogurt, breads and fresh fruit daily. If you head into town (a bit of a walk), you can have dinner by the river. There are many, many restaurants to choose from, with a fun atmosphere. We happened to be there as the Tour de France bicyclists came through town. Very exciting! Owner of the hotel gave us a going-away bag of freshly-baked Madeleines. Very nice beginning to our stay in France." Dolomary

July 29, 2015 : "We had an extraordinary stay with Ghislaine and with June and Voltaire, their lovely, friendly dogs. We could not have asked for better hosts or nicer accommodation. We will certainly return next time we are in this part of the world. Thank you so much for a very warm welcome!" Julie

Fresh bread, fresh fruit, orange juice, small pastries, homemade yogurt, quality tea, in short, a good time to start the day. Our two hosts were attentive, available and very caring. An absolute must if you are visiting Amiens. "Guillaume

August 6th, 2014 : "We were under the spell of this guest house ... all calm and serenity. We especially appreciated the kindness of our hosts and their warm welcome. The room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Breakfast is plentiful and very fresh. The English area is quiet and charming, about twenty minutes walk from the city center, and for the less brave, a direct bus allows to get there in a few minutes. A step not to be missed when going to Amiens. A big thank you to our guests." Edith and Robert

In June 1st, 2014 : "Though we were not typical guests for the set up, Ghislaine and her partner were very accomodating of our needs and wonderful hosts, she was very responsive and attentive. Six of us stayed at their home at the end of day one of our Paris to London bike ride. Due to a few delays on the route, some of us arrived pretty late (11.30 pm) and they were very patient with us. The rooms were fantastic, a lot of attention to detail and the facilities were great. Though we got in quite late and needed to have breakfast at 6.30 am, they did not complain and prepared an AMAZING morning meal for us. They also provided us with space in their garage to store our bikes safely and advice on our biking route for the next day. We were not able to do anything touristic, but as we rode into Amiens, I noted that the location of the house was quite strategic, not too far from the centre of town and a bus line nearby. The neighbourhood was also safe. There were also several maps in the house on things to do in Amiens. I would definitely stay here on a subsequent tourist visit to Amiens." Gabriel
